Definitely an eye opener and proof that life is not always greener. His strength and will to overcome the hand he dealt to himself is a true testament to the human spirit. We make bad choices for whatever reason, we make mistakes. It is up to one's self to change that. Then to share that experience to help others, that is what this book is about. I really was not expecting such a experience as I had with this great book. I felt the pain,the betrayal,the struggle and than a miracle,Spyk let his heart and soul pour out to help other's. I was in a bad way awhile back so this hit home for me. The strength and willpower to overcome his troubles was amazing to read. Are good Lord up above wants him to inspire all. It is a great pleasure that I can say I've received and read "A Naughty Thing Called Life". This novel is a page turner from the beginning all the way through and carries the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotion, enlightenment and determination. As an author I rarely get to read quality books like this from other authors. This book is inspirational and educational at the same time. The author takes us through the slow seduction of drug use and its ultimate outcome to his professional career. This book differs from most novels in that most novels have a beginning and an end but this book is an ongoing dissertation of love, dedication and intelligent recognition of the changes necessary to retrieve his life from the pits of hell. On merits alone this book is inspirational in the medical recovery of this esteemed author and for anyone who is struggling with recovery of any kind be at medical, physical or emotional this book is a Bible of education towards that goal. This author is to be commended for his honesty and desire to share the darkest moments of his life so that others could benefit from that experience. If you only read one book this year "A Naughty Thing Called Life" has to be it.
